Early Access

Early Access ran July 23–28, 2026 for Premium Edition and Collector's Bundle owners only—that window closed at the global launch on July 28 at 8:00 AM PDT. Standard Edition and Game Pass players joined everyone else on launch day.

Early Access included the full campaign, Operation: METEORITE, Skull hunting, and Campaign Remix after the three-Skull unlock—the same feature set as launch, five days early. As a thank-you for login issues during EA, Microsoft opened the free Sandstone Ancient claim at https://aka.ms/SandstoneAncient for all players.

  • Who — Premium Edition and Collector's Bundle (July 23–28, 2026)
  • Status — ended at global launch July 28, 8:00 AM PDT
  • Legacy perk — Sandstone Ancient thank-you claim still open for all players

Known Issues

Halo Studios is still tracking launch and Early Access issues through Halo Waypoint and patch notes. The highest-impact item remains the Two Betrayals softlock: destroying the canyon Banshee before the exit sequence on Tough Luck or Mythic stacks can halt progression until you reload.

PC players should also watch GPU driver regressions and custom binding saves that require a full client restart. For the full tracked list, workarounds, and fixed-in-build notes, see our Known Issues page at /known-issues/.

  • Two Betrayals — Banshee before canyon exit softlocks Tough Luck / Mythic runs (critical)
  • Crossplay co-op — intermittent desync and failed join on mixed Xbox / PC / PlayStation fireteams
  • PC drivers — some GPU / driver combos cause crashes or visual glitches (check Halo Support)
  • PC controls — custom bindings may not save until a full client restart
  • Campaign Remix — modifier stacks sometimes fail to persist when re-entering the lobby

Cinematic Showcase

Halo Studios published official cinematic showcases covering Campaign Evolved cutscenes—including difficulty-based variants and Easter eggs. These are spoiler-heavy watches; save them until you finish the campaign or accept full story reveals.

The embed below is the Original Missions all-cinematics reel. A separate Operation: METEORITE all-cinematics reel is also on the official Halo YouTube channel (search “Operation: Meteorite - ALL Cinematics”). Watch only if you accept METEORITE spoilers.
